Hola! Lazy me, I havent worked on an article in a while. I'm still working on Disney Superlatives Part 2, I kept putting it aside and now it has been way too long since the first one but it will be here soon, hopefully, trust me youll find out when it gets posted. Anyway, the title sounds like some sort of medical/psychological report or something. I was originally going to rank the princesses by their beauty and style but then I thought,"Hey, I don't really find any Disney princess ugly and they are so different that it would be difficult to rank them, so instead why not make an article that talks about what I think of each princesses appearance?", so that's what I did:)
Snow White
I really like Snow White's design. I love her dress. I've always thought that it was an interesting look because of the color choices. It really works well with her skin and hair. Snow White is cute, not necessarily drop dead gorgeous, but she is only 14 so that is kind of expected. Sometimes her dainty features arent clearly defined and she has a few bad shots but that is probably because it's Disney's first film. I like how she has this old fashioned look, sort of Betty Boop like but more realistic. Her hair is not the best but it doesnt bother me and she looks very nice throughout most of the film. I like her redesign because she looks the same but even cuter and their is something fresher and more modern about it. My sister has all of the Disney princess dolls from the Disney Store and Snow White is by far the prettiest to me. I really like how she looks.
Cinderella
This girl is the epitome of late-40s elegance and beauty. She is undoubtedly a classic princess from her iconic ballgown to her signature updo. I think that she has the most understated looks out of the princesses. It's a subtle beauty, a little too subtle for my tastes. She is my least favorite princess partly because I feel that she looks a bit normal and like the typical, generic princess but I still think that she has a very sophisticated look. I don't see why her hair color and dress color was changed for merchandising because I think they looked fine in the movie. I'm not a huge fan of the redesign because although she looks pretty, she doesn't look like Cinderella. She looks like Barbie and the dress is too dark.. The only thing I like is that her hair looks more realistic, I've never liked her strange updo in the movie. She's just the least interesting looking princess and her eyes sometimes look strange. She looks a bit better in Cinderella III.
Aurora
She's currently 12th on my list but I must admit that when I was younger she was my favorite, kind of. Don't tell the members of Team Aurora, o.k., they can't know that I used to like her more, just kidding:) I think it was largely due to her beauty because really the girl is quite beautiful and back then I thought she was drop dead gorgeous. I've always liked that her features are so angular, it never bothered me. I also loved her hair and thin, seemingly tall frame. This girl has model-like looks and that combined with her great singing voice made her my sort of favorite back in the day. I'm not crazy about the sometimes inconsistent color of her hair but I like everything else but she is still not the most interesting looking. I no longer think she is the prettiest but I can't deny that she is beautiful. Her redesign is o.k. but the choice to make her hair wavy like that is kind of weird.
Ariel
Ah, Ariel. I don't understand why so many people have you low on their prettiest lists because you are very beautiful. I've always loved her bright red hair, even if it isn't realistic. I love her youthful facial features and her slim frame never bothered me. Then again, Megara's ultra thin frame never bothered me either. She looks great both as a mermaid and a human. Even her eighties bangs don't really bother me. Even though the film has it's fair share of animation mistakes she always seems to look good. I've always loved how she looks. Her redesign is nice, they didn't change much. They made her hair a bit more realistically shaped and gave her a MUCH better dress. I Scuttle's words, she looks sensational.
Belle
I used to think that Belle was such a plain Jane but after rewatching her film, I've noticed that she is actually quite pretty even though she is still kind of normal looking and not as interesting looking as the other princesses. She's inconsistently drawn, which bothers me a bit, but she has some very nice shots throughout the movie. I've always preferred her hair loose but she usually has it tied. I've never liked the shape of her bangs, they just look weird to me. I like her hair color though and her facial features are nice. It's strange that Disney has only had one brunette princess. Her redesign looks good, I like how they made her hair.
Jasmine
Jasmine is pretty but she has some strange things about her too. Her nose for one is kind of weird and her hair, what is that style supposed to be anyway? It's always looked strange to me. Her body is sort of a weird shape too. Still, I do think her skin and hair color is nice and so are her eyes. She's more interesting looking than other princesses. Her body is kind of weird and her face can occasionally look strange. She looks nice in the redesign, they made her hair look more normal. Jasmine's looks aren't my favorite but I like them most of the time.
Pocahontas
Pocahontas is probably the most exotic looking Disney princess. She has always really stood out to me because she doesn't look like any other princess. I think she is beautiful but she has some bad shots and her nose, or lack of one, does bother me a little since it is kind of strange. I like how her hair looks, especially when it's being hit by the wind. She has one of the best bodies of any princess, very athletic and tall. I've always liked her intense eyes but the lips can be a little much but I still like her unique appearance. The redesign is.... interesting. I'm not sure whether I like or dislike the boots and earrings but I guess she looks fine. She can look kind of old sometimes.
Mulan
I love Mulan's Asian beauty but unfortunately, since she had to *cues music* "BE A MAN" for most of the movie we didn't really get to see a lot of her feminine side. Because she was passing as a man for most of the film she can look a little plain. This girl is good though, have you noticed that she was able to change her jawline? How did she do that? She never ceases to amaze me:) I love her hair and facial features and everything really. I think she's pretty with the long hair, makeup and dress but I also like her look when she's in the army. Her redesign looks nice but it only kind of looks like Mulan, the dress is nice but a bit too fancy for a warrior.
Tiana
I guess the Down in New Orleans finale is right, the women ARE very pretty, well at least Tiana is. I really like her facial features, especially her eyes but her signature bun , the one in the merchandising, is rather lackluster. It's too boring and serious, I much prefer her other hairstyles. She also has one of the best smiles of any princess and their is a regal quality about her that I like. She looks the same in her redesign, so of course it is nice.
Rapunzel
She is cute-pretty. I like that her eyes are green, I love green eyes, and I don't think they are so big that they make her look weird. I really like her long blonde hair but am not wild about the short brown hair. She has a fun, youthful look that perfectly matches her personality. I like the natural look she has. I like her facial features in general. Her redesign on the other hand...it's sort of weird and plain, they made her look so boring and forgettable. I like her small, thin frame.
Merida
Merida is sort of hard for me to place. She's definitely interesting looking but at the same time she isn't gorgeous. Don't get me wrong, just because she's not traditionally pretty doesn't mean she isn't pretty but still. I like her crazy hair and that she doesn't look like any other princess but she has some weird shots. I think her head is too round and so are her eyes and she doesn't really have eyelashes and her lips are so thin...she's not ugly, she has her own unique brand of beauty, but she isn't the prettiest. I like her redesign even if it is a more glamorous version of her. She's really cute when she's little.
Anna
She is both average looking and very pretty. Let's just say she's the prettiest average girl princess. I love her hair, what color is that anyway? I like her facial features. When I saw the first pictures of her before seeing Frozen I thought she looked like a cheap imitation of Rapunzel but as I watched the movie I realized that she's prettier than Rapunzel. I love her hairstyles and the whole fun, youthful look.
I've seen a lot of Anna fanart and she usually looks nice so I hope Disney's redesign does her justice.
Elsa
I really like her more mature, supermodel looks. I like her hair color and hairstyles as well as her facial features in general. She looks a lot like her sister but I think she is a bit prettier. Elsa has great style. I love how regal she looks. She has such a commanding presence. I'm not crazy about some of her publicity shots from before the movie because she looks kind of stuck up and with a big head but she looks great in the movie. I hope the redesign looks great as well.
Now watch me do exactly what I said I wasn't going to do, list them, here it goes.
