On Sunday (August 28), BFFs Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez caught up at the Video Music Awards Pre-Show, where Gomez acted as a special black-carpet correspondent.
"I can tell you two are best friends. We're not going to get any work done," joked MTV News correspondent Sway Calloway.
There was a bit of work done, though. Lovato talked up her forthcoming album, Unbroken, due in stores September 20.
"It's definitely not pop/rock how I used to do. It's definitely more radio-friendly. It's more R&B, it's more pop, and I think you guys are going to like it," Lovato said. "I got a lot of collaborations with Timbaland, Missy Elliott ... Jason Derülo."
"You love Missy Elliott!" Selena shrieked.
Lovato is just one of many celebrities platinum recording artist and Emmy-winning actress Gomez interviewed. She talked to her peers alongside MTV's team of correspondents, including Calloway, Jim Cantiello and James Montgomery.
"I am very excited to be a part of the 2011 VMAs! After all of my years watching the VMAs, the pre-show has always been one of my favorite parts. It is a true honor to be hosting from the black carpet this year," Gomez said before the show in a statement.
Cobra Starship performed their dance hit "You Make Me Feel," featuring Sabi, right after Gomez's interview with Lovato.

Selena could be currently focused on her singing career but she still prefers doing movies. The A Year Without Rain singer said, "I just don't really trust myself. One day, I wake up and I'm so obsessed with my music and then the next day I wake up and I'm just so into my films," "But I think in the future once I get older and I want everything to slow down, I think I'm going to want to be in film," she added. Meanwhile, Selena is getting ready for her first tour. I will be prepping to do my first actual tour, which will be exciting because I've done a lot of concerts."But I've never done an actual tour...I will hopefully be a part of some more films, but I'm not quite sure of that yet." Selena can be next seen on the big screen in 2011on the movie Monte Carlo.
